The Deadwoman, The Witch and The Horse walk into a bar...

Well, a tavern to be proper. The tavern ensconced by moss-dripping oaks, perched on the swampy marsh, and caressed by the balmy winds.

Year after year, on All Saints' Day The Deadwoman wakes up from her deathly slumber to join her friends at the tavern. She ain't the only one. Comers and goers from all walks of life wind up here, on the bayou.

But to-night, she's got an ambitious undertaking — to find a ring for her fiancée! Oh, her girl sure deserves the world! The ragtag visitors of this fine establishment might just be able to give The Deadwoman a few hints as to where to look for the ring.

She's gotta choose the path wisely and keep her eyes open for the tavern ain't a place for tenderfoots. Will the shady alligator lodgers grab her attention? Will the weeping young man catch her eye? Come what may,  the night is young and full of adventure.

The game is loosely based on Louisiana of 1900s. We're not trying to depict any race, class, gender, sexuality, and culture stereotypes. In this fantasy world, all characters are judged by who they are as people (or creatures?). Racism and other forms of unjust prosecution do not exist in this story. We obviously do not condone them.

The vast majority of the characters you meet are either dead or spirited away. How it came to be is explained as you play, but no worries – there are no disturbing or triggering details. There are hints at domestic violence and characters involved with cults/high control groups.

The game contains mentions and/or depictions of violent death, blood and gore, theft, mild language use, alcohol and tobacco consumption.

All names, places and events are fictional. Any similarities are coincidental.

It is meant to be a light-hearted and culturally diverse snippet of what could happen if the undead walked the swamp one day a year. We hope you enjoy it!

This game was delightful, like an actual folk tale come to life, I loved every second of it. And I think it's because of how well everything comes together; the writing is super sharp and appropriate, the art is gorgeous all throughout and the sound design and music fit the setting and tone of the story perfectly. This is really well constructed, is probably the most succint way to sing my praises.

And I learned some things about Lousiana parlance and folk culture while I was at it, which is pretty neat. Thank y'all for making this, it was a real delight to play.
